Hold on...what I believe isn't really the point.

It's that to some people couldn't imagine Nas (or any rapper for that matter) having the moral high ground on Barak Obama.

And for the record, what exactly is so far fetched about Nas beating Kelis or Carmen for that matter?

I be he uses Louisiana hot sauce too, I mean I don't know for sure...but sounds pretty plausible, no?

Nas been spitting shock lyrics “a serial killer who works by the phone book” “when I was 12 I went to hell…”

If you ever had a woman lie on you to the cops and her parents while she’s the one doing the attacking then you might not take the believe all women angle.

Neither of those women don’t have ulterior motives. A lot of start fights with dudes over cheating and then claim they beat them when the man defends himself.

I'm an intuitive, R Kelly's music just feels icky to me.

:yeshrug:

No moral judgment, not gonna take a position on if people should stop listening to him or not. I just know that when seems like you're ready come on, it don't hit the same.

That opens the door to the question of just how separate is the artist from his art?
It’s an interesting topic to me not because I care what others do but it’s interesting to hear people talk about someone I enjoy’s activities when their favs are usually about the same.

The bigger point though is does it matter? I listen to very disrespectful music and enjoy it, don’t care who it slanders really but I try to think of if I would want someone I care about (who may or may not be experiencing something similar) to think something of it. Most of it doesn’t come up because I don’t regularly consume/care for most of who I named anyway so eh.

ESP old artists they have lots of skeletons. It doesn’t keep me up though.

This is a little extreme, but, it's point is right.

Ya'll gonna learn you'd be naked and homeless if you have these extreme moral rulers that you prolly don't measure you to yourself.

YEAH IT WAS A BIT EXTREME. :laff:

IT WAS THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO SET UP MY ROUTINE FOR MY SMART BULBS.

The idea of separating the art from the artist is a great way to live your life as a moral principle. The opposite of this is Cancel Culture.

Nobody's perfect. If every human were to see art and artist as one and the same then nothing would get done. A standard that we as individuals would never pass ourselves yet we expect others to do so. All we can do is hold ourselves accountable. If any person does wrong, say it. If you do wrong, own up to it.
If you as an individual feel that you can't consume a piece of art because you find the artist repugnant, that's fine. That's your right. Don't expect other people to feel the same.
Bad people can make beautiful pieces of art. Good people can make shytty art and also art that is depraved.

An example of a shytty person that has contributed greatly to Western art and mythos:
H.P. Lovecraft. - A vile, racist S.O.B. that made the Cthulu Mythos. I doubt that most people would stop using his work.

If you ever grew up seeing damn near every man you know go upside a woman's head for one reason or another you might not think it's that far fetched. I mean she was fukking around on him with Jay Z and some of his other peers.

Women lie, that is true. But unfortunately for a hell of a whole lot of people domestic violence is fairly normalized, especially 30+ years ago.

It's not farfetched. Just like it's not farfetched that Nas didn't beat Kelis and/or Carmen.

I never understood why people are so quick to latch onto allegations anyway. Like that's all you need to look at a person sideways. Just seems counterproductive to me.
