Pump is not popping off like that at all. His album came and went amongst the younger demographic, nobody bumps any of his shyt. Replace him with Migos or Kendrick.
Drake is a given, and is not going anywhere for a long time.
Cardi B has the sauce right now, and she has the potential to be the next Nicki Minaj: she doesn't have the ability to churn out Pop hits, but she's so in tune with the entertainment industry that it doesn't really matter. Looking at her numbers so far it wouldnt be crazy to claim she's gonna be here for a minute.

At the end of the day, the "masses" in rap right now aren't the old heads, they're the young and drug addled youth. That's why this music is either all vapid and nonsensical lyrics over an upbeat 140 beat for vibing, or literal low tempo sludge for drug fueled hibernations. Actual quality of MCs doesn't matter, as everything is fueled by production and ghostwriters.

This. Whatever era, subgenre or regional variation of hip-hop has existed is still being made now or updated on. It's easier than ever to find it, too. You can pay $10 a month for Spotify, pay $0 for Bandcamp to check things out first, etc. Dudes think it was better when they were paying $20 for a Pen & Pixel album cover with 2 good songs out of 24 with 14 skits. In all seriousness I can see Hispanics & other mutts being the mainstream face of Hiphop from this point on. Lil Pumps, 69s, Cardis & Drakes are golden. Close enough to black to ape blacks convincingly but close enough to white for whites to identify with.
