If I'm dead broke, and looking for a job to get on my feet, there are hundreds of places to look within like a 2 mile radius of my house. That ain't shyt to walk/bike in the slightest. I'm single, with no kids. If I'm starting from the bottom, I start there. Huge shopping centers a couple football fields from my house. Home Depot, Walmart, pet smart, Ross, few pizza joints, hobby lobby, mad fast food/fast casual places, banks, gas stations, bars/restaurants, cvs/Walgreens, Starbucks, att/t mobile stores etc. will I be balling? Of course not. I can go without car, rent/Utils are paid on my 10 an hour wage, I'm a single dude and can easily get by eating well and healthy on say 75 a week. In the meantime I can find other part time work, since I'm single and with not much expendable cash at the moment so won't be doing much in my free time anyways, and certainly would still be on the lookout for other opportunities. Is this a way to stay for years and years? No, but in the short term there's no reason you can't make it work. Like I say having kids in that situation is a colossal fukkup, but there's zero reason anyone without kids shouldn't be able to get something going
You won't get a job at those stores being black in general.
As all those types of jobs have no affirmative action detail to aid a black masculine male.
Plus, when the recession hit.
Those types of jobs always in general went to the higher up pedigree person.
So, now in general you are watching a fastfood worker.
Be underemployed like blacks who were physician and surgeons were as Pullman porters which a Phillip Randolph used as the real time braintrust to create the civil rights movement.
So, we are back in time before the real most important person to black people in America, the father of civil rights studied and rallied to have changed.
Where his speech is ignored and actually more important than martin Luther king's I have a dream and shunned from general black people consumption.
When, Phillip Randolph also spoke on those same steps on the same day, as well with a better speech which was tailored to whom exactly civil rights was created to help which was black people.
Not the white women civil rights laws were passed for to free them from slavery from white men.
You can only do what a country allows you to do.
Working at small retail became next to impossible to be hired at outside of a seasonal employment ploy by those retailers.
Small internship jobs or seasonal temporary positions are now crippling because they know where and what you are trying to do and unless you a buddy to a good ole boi....you, not gon make it.
Lord forbid the politician who made the law to make them hire you is apprehended and brought to trial.
The America of the nineties and the affirmative action based days of being skilled do not exist anymore.

Working fast food was only a small wrinkle in time in the great recession.
Fast food or retail employment is not an out anymore, when you hurting to persevere like how you view it.
In actual execution in nature it does not work.
