You shouldn't be in this thread if you haven't beat mission 46.

So its been one month since MGSV dropped and a few of us have beat the game. I think this thread is due because MGO will most likely take over the official thread, and there is ALOT of speculation about this game.

Warning Im about to post UNMARKED SPOILERS!

Alright so my take on this whole game is that it is not what it seems. My first thought was that Ishmael was not really real and apart of Venom's imagination, sort of like fight club.

Why do I feel this way? I'll state the obvious first.

1. Ishmael has BOTH eyes, and they work.

2. We NEVER see Ishmael revealed as Big Boss, Ishmael walks off and hours later big boss appears.in story telling I feel this is key, if its not explicitly stated, you should question it.

3. Ishmael has NO facial hair, dataminers have stripped the model from the game and it has no facial hair. Big boss is seen with full facial hair when he meets ocelot.

4. When Ishmael "fights" quiet he doesn't use a hint of CQC :stopitslime:

5. Ishmael gets stabbed and there is no blood :dahell: as a matter of fact, he seems to shrug it off after a few minutes.

6. In both the truth, and the prologue, the doctor states that "the whole world wants me dead" and that I need to get plastic surgery, now this made sense when I believed it was big boss getting surgery, but why the hell would anyone want an unknown medic dead?

7. When you meet Ishmael, he says that he's been watching over you for "9 years" but we learn in the "truth" tape that big boss was supposedly in a coma for most of the time and only awoke a short time before you did. So how the hell did he watch over you for 9 years in a coma? :patrice:

8. Ishmael gets shot in the ambulance, doesn't seem to be bothered (AGAIN)

9. Ishmael seems to be in the habit of disappearing, most obviously when he throws the magazine to distract the guards

10. Venom and Ocelot are seen boarding the ship at 4 am but Ocelot sees Big Boss off at 6 am? :wtf:

Now for some more less obvious reasons.

If im zero, and my number one thing is " I want to protect big boss at all cost" Why the hell would I let him protect someone who looks like me, in a place where a murderous army, kills everyone in the hospital :ohhh:

In the "truth" tape, you hear Ocelot and Big Boss talking. apparently, he woke up a while before you (Venom) did, so if he was already awake, why not just escape then? why have him sit around babysitting someone who is taking his place. Seems highly unsafe. (this would make #10 work also because if BB left on another day, Ocelot could see him off, and then still come back and and get Venom/Ishmael.)

On another note, im not entirely sure we are even getting the correct account of what actually happens. If you finished the Paz/ MSF wondering soldier story line, then you come to find out that, the whole Paz being alive thing was false and it was just Venom hallucinating. He also hallucinates that he saved Paz, and removed the second bomb (this didn't happen)

But peep this, Ocelot (when you first "meet" paz in the medical room) says that paz seems to be suffering from an amnesia dis order that fuses her fake memories with her real ones, thus she really believes that she is Paz, the angel of peace, and forgets she's a cipher agent, and anything that challenges that causes her to break down.

I wonder who else could be affected by fake memories taking over there real ones :ohhh:

Venom even hallucinated that Kaz calls him into base and that ocelot was in the room with him when he meets paz :dwillhuh:

So what else could he be imagining? :krs:

Lastly this quote finds its way into mission 46

"there are no facts, only interpretations" :wow:

I think Ocelot got Big Boss out of the truck, put him in a safe house or some shyt... then went back to get Ahab, put him on the whaler, then he got back on the horse and went back to Big Boss. Gave him the passport, cigar, and the bike, then its sunrise and Ocelot gets back on the whaler.

I've come to terms with the fact that the story suffered due to the issues between Konami and Kojima. I've lost interest in trying to figure it all out. As much as I like the game, and the story, I just don't care as much about the story anymore. The series has a solid legacy as it stands. I hate that the future of the series looks so bleek but it is what it is. Now we'll get a whole bunch of non-canon stuff thrown in by Konami that will polarize the fans and ruin the franchise. It was good while it lasted I guess.

Outer heaven was in Zanzibar.
They could make a game from the pov of the real big boss. To me though. I don't think we need any more MGS games after this one. As a life time fan of the series and follower of the story, I think I know just enough now to feel comfortable with the story. Seeing liquid as a boy was incredible. Sure there are a ton of other things I would have liked to see but I'm content not having seen them. I like some aspects being left to the imagination.

That's the only game i'd want left. Is the Liquid Snake game...dude has been and still is my favorite character in the series. But i'm ok with the story too.
