It's obvious the 2 party system is dead... what parties should replace it?

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
Nobody's interests are represented by either side but big business (PIC, MIC, finance, pharma etc)

If we could scrap the duopoly and create parties to reflect actual interests of the people what kind of parties do you think we'd see?

Obviously #establishmentset, not sure about the rest though.

Nowhere
we need a labor/workers party

2 parties will always result.

Duverger's law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You need a new constitution to institute a parliament and/or abandon first-past-the-post voting.

We've been over this ad nauseum.

duverger's law is junk. america's two party system has nothing to do with first past the post voting and more to do with other factors

Duverger’s Law is a dead parrot. Outside the USA, first-past-the-post voting has no tendency at all to produce two party politics

The new parties will be just like the old parties unless we have publicly financed campaigns. We probably need a constitutional amendment to get money out of politics.

Basically and although the Dems and Reps are opposing parties they would join forces to squash a third entry.
You need a charismatic, ethical leader from one of these two parties to get the ball rolling on campaign finance reform first for it ever to have a chance. Which is not a likely scenario.
What is more likely is the Dems or Reps will drastically change their platforms to something more satisfying to a larger group of people. Remember the Republicans used to be the party for Black folks and Dems were the party fighting against civil rights (Dixiecrats) and Nixon, LBJ, G Wallace, Nelson Rockefeller actions/stances flipped the script.
The Reps are going to change their platform sooner rather than later. What they are selling now does not work on the national level and in 10 - 20 years won't work locally either.

It will work as long as their are midterm elections

And that's why they haven't already changed

you want the USA to be run by a party that got 10-25% support?

this isn't europe, people vote based on demographics here, not ideology
