Been trying to get back in the gym recently and have been watching a lot of fitness content, so I stumbled across these guys that have a hardcore gym in New Jersey. Initially, everything seemed motivational, but digging a bit deeper, I noticed it is all bravado and bullying disguised as camaraderie and "brotherhood". There is one dude specifically named "Unc" that is basically the gym leader that low key gives off sadistic and almost psychotic vibes. The other gym members laugh off his antics, but that's because they are scared of him. He has a good 50 lbs over everyone and he is bigger and stronger than everyone. Just look at this shyt...

Clothesline chops one of the gym members and looks straight into the camera looking guilty af.

Tells the camera man he's going to choke him when no one is around and tries to play it off when he noticed somebody heard him :what:

Picking on the Arab dude again, punching him in his ribs while he's working on a set

Check one of the top comments. Someone that knows him saying he is worse that what is actually shown in this videos :mjlol:

Nikka is LITERALLY foaming at the mouth like an uncontrolled rottweiller here

Arab dude talking bout "we're not bullies". Well of course YOU not a bully nikka, you the one getting bullied.

Arab dude getting punched up again and says, "my Abu (means father in Arabic) is going to shoot the shyt out you". I don't even say those words jokingly with my close people. He is saying this shyt disguised as a joke. Now that their page is blowing up and people are seeing him as a send-off, he is sending a low key warning to breh.

In the gym I just want to workout, self-improve and reach peak physical fitness. I am not trying to get into a machismo-off with other brehs. People in these comments talking bout some "iron sharpens iron" and "it's a brotherhood, you wouldn't understand". What is I see a dude working out with jailhouse rules because he is the big dog in the yard, and the other people in the gym are scared of him, but it only takes one moment for one of these dudes in that gym to get bodied, including the bully himself.

Am I being soft, or this is just really healthy gym dynamics..?

one of my closest friend (up until we couldn't stand each other), who was a junior martial arts champion, basically had the same personality as unc, and grew up practicing in this kind of environment

I think categorizing this type of dynamics as toxic is true, but a little bit reductive

For sure, there are a lot of "toxic" practices that strive in spaces like that, but also forms of camaraderie and support on another level. That should be taken into account as healthy

At the end of the day I agree with what they said in one of the clips. You should know what you step into and how to stand up for yourself. "Toxic" close-knit groups like that aren't for everybody and that's okay imo :manny:

Breh was 100% bullied in his formative years. He seeks revenge via fitness and attempting to dominate others. I'm not going to feel bad for any grown man that claims he's being bullied at a spot he voluntarily chooses to frequent, though.

As soon as he’s out of that safety net, he’s getting domed.

Bullies never prosper.

Reminds of some guys I grew up with. They used to get brutalized by their older brother on some different shyt. Like he used to choke them out, all types of shyt and they couldn't do a thing because he was 6'1 320lbs and built like a lineman. They were bangers though but didn't deal with him out of respect for their mother he told me.

He didn't try me though because my uncle was ATLPD and would have handled that quick.
