Hate is a strong word but they definitely didn't want him to have that Wrestlemania moment. Bryan even said it himself in his book and in an interview.

He thinks Cripple H was always gonna put him over..forgetting that Cripple H actually had no opponent because Punk quit and didn't want to work with him because it was lesser than the main event. They tried to push Bryan out of the main event at HIAC 2013 in Miami when Michaels kicked him so Blandy could win. All that did was get Michaels booed out for two extra years and had the fans turn on 3 Str8 PPV main events while having everyone question if Vince had totally lost his touch with the pulse of the fans.

If Phil Jackson was stupid and decided to build the team around Craig Hodges and leave Jordan on the bench, Hodges wouldve finished his career with more points, better stats, more jersey sales.
