I think this woman live in one of the Black neighborhoods in Queens which probably is quiet, she mentioned the 165th bus terminal closing, why would someone in NY who doesn't live in Queens even know or care about that? :heh:

BTW they are replacing it with new terminal across the street, it might be an improvment for bus riders as the current terminal is a literal shyt hole for my Rock Dove cousins. Wait for a bus there you better duck and I ain't talking bullets :pachaha:
I live in southside and it's full of music and fireworks were popping off for Memorial day. If it's not that it's sirens and planes she need to go outside :mjlol:

Seeing certain black women “lighten” up their face with makeup is so disappointing

She raises some valid points, even if everything she said is not always applicable all the time.

Still, weird to see Coli brehs trying to refute what she’s saying as if they’re in favor of gentrification and black people being priced out of historically black neighborhoods.

less weird, but still stupid, although on brand for the Coli - brehs focusing on shorty doing her make-up and trying to cook her for it

The more I think about it, I really do start to think that gentrification is 100% of the fault of the residents who refused to pool their resources to defend themselves. If we just including the two neighborhoods she's talked about , Brooklyn and the Bronx, there are more than 1.7 million adults of whom, at least 1.1million are black , Hispanic or poor Asians.

If these 1.1million adults pooled a measley $100.00 a month into a neighborhood action/defence group ; similar to how labor unions defend workers in employement disputes, then they would easily have more than a billion dollars each year in defense of their interests.

I guarantee you that no one individual housing development has that type of money for itself because even the biggest of the skyscrapers outside of Manhattan don't have a budget higher than 500 million.

So it seems very silly for the residents of the Bronx or Brooklyn to complain about being pushed out when they're not doing anything with their own funds. The elected officials obviously aren't going to help you so it's up to you to pull your own resources and help yourselves. This is why I can't take any of these claims of gentrification in such a densely populated area seriously. Those two boroughs together have more money between their residents than entire nations, so this debate with developers seems silly.

This is the exact same tactic that the ethnic enclaves use to protect themselves. There is a reason that their parts of town don't seem to get gentrified. Italians, Chinese, Korean, and Irish all imposed internal taxes on their sections of town to defend their interests on both businesses and individuals.
