I've heard/seen brehs talk about Red Dead Redemption but what's so great about it? The last shyt I owned was an OG xbox so I really don't know. It just seems strange that a game that's like the 1800s is so great.
Can you drink the original cocaine cola? Are you feeding cocaine to the horses? I'm joking but what can you do that actually makes it fun?
First off, I gotta explain how I view open world games… Rule 1.. Make me believe I’m in that world.
Too many open world games put you in a place that ls empty as shyt and/or not realistic enough to their own story. The NPCs are dead besides 3/4 canned responses and no other interaction. Ain’t shyt to do or see beyond going to the 57373 random ass dots on the big ass empty map.
RDR2, and every other Rockstar game, is the epitome of what I just said NOT happening. If they give you a story, you damn well believe you are right in that world. Every little small detail of being a cowboy, it’s in that bytch. You are in the Wild West and every person and animal in the game is fair game. The stuff you’re doing makes sense. Time goes on, plot goes on. You can actually follow people around and they have a time schedule, shyt to do that day, and also completely random events. It’s well written. It’s well acted. You can get lost and find yourself fukking around for 4 hours just getting to a mission.
Now some people called it boring. It also won like 100 awards. So I’d say if that old school cowboy shyt ain’t for you, it’s probably harder to hop right in like GTA. But it’s the gta guys making a western. Again… has there been a shytty gta?
Their attention to detail is unmatched
