While I agree with you on some level how do you know if the sequel is going to be bad, sometime you just don't know imo. Taken 2 had a fukking great premise.

I totally agree, I've never understood the concept that a bad sequel somehow ruins the original. This is one of those things that people just use as a talking point when they want to complain about something.

People feel more comfortable with an established property
