I thought I was gonna post more after being approved but most days I don’t see many threads interesting enough to post in. Social media in general is falling off imo in terms of quality discussions.
Everything has been talked about to death, now folks just try to get folks “triggered” enough to respond. I see so many posters who type the same phrases, buzzwords, opinions, topics, etc — I can’t even tell who is who, most posters don’t have unique opinions on the topics discussed on here so I no longer enter most threads, I can predict what is being said without clicking on it.
This is what happens when you been online for 20+ years tho. I’m sure the younger dudes are reading things they’ve never seen before so the forum is more entertaining for them

What are we gonna do about it? Black subreddits are seen as a joke on this forum but adding race verification changed the content on reddit overnight. The r/blackfellas daily discussion thread consistently has healthy conversations, it's like a day and night difference. I don't want to adopt the highly sensitive values of that forum but the verification is much needed it's not even a discussion.
I have a disdain for reddit because everytime I pull up a black posters history , especially the women it's usually always a septum ring wearing, girl who grew up only around white people. I'm biased as fukk unfortunately and I struggle with always invalidating their perspectives because I can't relate.
Without fail, everytime I pull up a post when someone says on reddit , "as a black person" it's always from the POV of someone who didn't grow up in a black community at all.
I know I'm wrong for that but I hate reddit

I agree lots of black subreddits are trash especially the female/popular subreddits but I only spent time on blackfellas and blackbrotherhood which are small well moderated subreddits. The verification is my whole my point, verification is key and would be a great first step. Even a 'verified only' forum on here would show a stark difference between the rest of the site.

Another reason why the discussion on black reddit is sometimes better is the moderators and admins are known by the posters. This is partly my fault for not researching but as a relatively new and young member I have no fukking clue how this forum came to be and who runs it. The shyt hit the fan once black redditors found out r/blackladies and r/blackpeopletwitter had some white and asian mods, that really bolstered r/blackfellas numbers. We need to have a similar exodus here
Coli I can't speak for, but the other forums I can vouch for and alot of these newer accounts is basically what OP is saying, but worse, BX being an example and I heard something about A Black Web (essentially the new Ill Community)

Unless you are a unique contributer like making great smilies, gifs, other types of entertaining media making threads always puts a target on your back.
