Michael Jackson was the star of one of the biggest boy bands on the planet as a child. He couldn't go anywhere because everybody knew who he was. Then he transitioned into the biggest artist on the planet. He didn't have a normal childhood as his brothers were also famous and he had a sister who was a star in her own right.

Wayne was like the 3rd most popular person in a group that started out local. When he dropped his solo album at 16, he was far from what he became circa 2006-2012. Wayne wasn't a superstar as a child. He could walk outside and not have people pass out or do something crazy to him. Bow Wow would be a more feasible comparison and even that one's a stretch.
