Well, I think it's a winning issue on a state level (especially since my state just went fully legal).

Congress is different tho. They wouldn't be able to legalize it federally without a huge Dem supermajority that they'll never get. So could backfire because they wouldn't be able to deliver on their campaign promise.

No doubt not trying to chastize Democrats and they are more progressive on the issue than most Republicans. I only really fear Trump running on it, if not just pay lip service during the campaign and if he wins going back on it, because this is something I think he will view as a possible win and has no beliefs and ideology and will do whatever to win.

The fact it's becoming legal through out more of the states, I think can be used to buttress and argument for running on legalizing it. I know Congress has to pass a bit but if a candidate can get the party on message about across the country and get a bunch of senators, house members to sign on to supporting it, this shyt could be a killshot to secure a win in conjunction with more substantive issues. 2020 seems like the right time to stop hmm and hawing about this shyt and push it.
