the beef got played when shady/aftermath jumped in with their corny disses. it was better when it was just g-unit vs murder inc.

the only brightspot when aftermath stepped in was when jarule sonned eminem.

Man.. I have to strongly disagree with you. Ja Rule was running everything back then, he popped with J-Lo, Ashanti and all..

Then 50 Cent came in, had a great story, had great music to back it up, and just demolished this guy..

You never had the feeling that you just couldn't take Ja Rule serious anymore after that??

Because almost everyone did!

(even though it was Murder Inc that shot and stabbed 50 Cent, so I guess they werent that much of a joke)

I don't like Curtis or his music but he did end Ja's career. I remember when the Wanksta video dropped just about everybody i know was saying fukk Ja Rule.

Its sad really because in the end Ja Rule was a better rapper and he made better mainstream songs than Curtis.

We really owe Jeffrey an apology

If he was a better rapper he'd still be around at least in some capacity. You see how all the other dudes who went up against 50 came out relatively unscathed. Because they were actually good and were respected.

Fat joe did deliver that classic moment lol....it does take the fans being ready to turn on a nikka to end a career....its possible to end a rappers career as we know it tho...he had hits after but u could never look at ja the same again no matter what he did...that's the best u can ask for with a diss...is to change the way u look at a rapper forever....Tip did end lil flips shyt tho :laff: but the tide wuz turning on him to....I think Lil Wayne might be at that point now if sumbody relevent like Jay decided to drop that bomb on his azz.

Like 50 didn't have Fat Joe runnin' to the nearest exit at the MTV awards :umad:

Didn't go through the entire thread, but........while an argument can be made that 50 didn't really end Ja's career..............50 sure did speed up the process. Matter fact, to be fair, I'd say Ja's career ended for a couple reasons, 50% being his formula got old. Nikkaz got tired of hearing that singy songy bull shyt saturating the radio. The other 50% was, Curtis making fun of Ja's formula and making quality street music to contrast against Jeffrey's music. He essentially DMX'd the game by putting out that real shyt while the radio was being dominated with bull shyt.

Dude had beef with Dr. Dre, Dmx, 50 cent, Eminem, Busta Rhymes at the same damn time. His type of music was just about to reach its expiring date and it really wasn't a hard beef for 50 when Grodt dropped. But lets not forget that Rule was styling on 50 before that.

It was a combination of a lot of things. I actually agree with Wacky D on this one:

The Feds pretty much shut down the record label and no one in the industry wanted to touch it with a 10 foot pole because of the court case.

That little fad of the girly hip hop songs was coming to an end and when Ja Rule tried to go back to his original style he got hit with people not taking it seriously.

I'd go as far to say that beefing with Eminem hurt him more because the same people who were eating up his love songs with Ashanti saw Eminem as Elvis. Hearing Ja Rule dissed his daughter probably didn't go over well with those white teenage females who 6 months before were singing his songs in their Jettas.

50 found out later what it was like to be on top and then have people enjoy to watch you fall to the bottom, the same thing happened with Ja Rule.

I think OTHER artists killed Ja's career more than 50. Imagine, before 50, everybody's favourite artists wanted to do a track with Ja and I gotta admit, some of his shyt was actually quite nice. But after 50 came, these same artists turned their back on him, like he never existed, like he was a leper or something. No more pop/rap songs - that was the end of Ja's chapter. Ja wanted to go the street/rap route against 50 and lost his credibility in the process...he should have ignored 50 and kept it movin'...
