Was watching very drunk for a majority of the fights which doesn't help but having this many big fights actually wore thin. Gastlum vs Hendricks was fun then after that I felt like nunes beating Tate was fun but other then that the only thing that kept me involved was gambling and my stannery for silva

No, they won't. The sport is progressing to where fighters are now training in all disciplines at once - hence MMA gyms. It will take a while, but eventually it will look like one fluent style. Nice quote, though - you should lay it over a Bruce Lee picture.

I was thinking about this recently and I agree you will always have to be a master at a specific discipline or you will ultimately fail. But yes you will need to be super well rounded at the same time.

I feel like if there's someone that trains at boxing first (and excels to the point being a pro-boxer is a real thing) and focuses second on takedown defense, they'd probably be an absolute monster. The "striking" is so primitive to be honest.
