Sit him for a cpl years and I think he can be successful in the league. No good QBs coming out this yearb so I think he has late 2nd - 3rd grade.
He is talented, need to see him play a team with some D though. Big 12 D's![]()
Who says the B1G and SEC don't let the players playtired of this narrative how bout the Big 12's offenses are great while the B10 and SEC offenses don't let their players play ala Dean Smith in them Jordan years. #Handcuffing
I was thinking more about the ideal situation for him. Maybe not as long as Tyrod but a year or two at least. I could see him coming in and sitting behind a good QB and showing out after they retire. You're right tho a trial by fire maybe good to him as long as he isn't taking a lot of unnecessary hits ala the first Carr. Winston and Marriotta have really impressed me this year tho especially Mariotta.Would be ideal but you wouldn't really need to...
Beyond his physical ability...he has ridiculously good touch on the ball and has a just as ridiculous football IQ
5 picks...2 of which weren't his fault...in this high risk throw offense is insane...
He could do exactly in his first year what Winston and Mariotta are doing...
Who says the B1G and SEC don't let the players play? What does that have to do with the non defense played in the Big 12?
You clearly dont watch OSU play. They probably go for it on 4th down more than anybody. Go back to the Bama game when OSU could have ran the clock out and threw a bomb deep giving Bama another chance to tie the game up. And again what does all of that have to do with the Big 12 not playing D. You would agree Oregon last year had one of the best offenses in college football last year, yet OSU held them to 20 points while giving Oregon the ball 4 extra times on turnovers. This is no means taking away from Boykin. Im a fan. Just want to see him play against a actual D and see how he holds up getting hit a few times. I hope the brother gets his shot in the league and produces.Man if you spread the defense out like the Big 12 does have a QB that can deliver the ball and have athletes on the outside anyone can put up numbers on offense. Certain teams outside of the Big 12 don't do that. They rely on the running game, game managing QB's and defense. I know its the age old adage but I like to see the ball distributed over the field via the pass. Just my preference.
You do know that Baylor's goal on offense every week is to score 56 points right? What's OSU's goal on offense not to turn it over, don't put their defense in a bad situation and make just enuff plays to win the game. It's just different offensive philosophies.

They'll give up yards, but when u can out physical your opponent and control the ball, with a D that can get stops, you'll win 9 out of 10 times. What it has to do with B12 defense? The defense is at a disadvantage. They have to have multiple CB that can cover, their gonna sacrifice LB or DL coming off the field taking away the pass rush and that allows draw plays and the short passing game. The defense creeps up and you take your shots over the top down the field.
I would love to see OSU play in the Big 12 to see how their vaunted defense would hold up in an 8 or 9 game conference schedule not just 1 bowl game with 4-6 weeks to prepare for a Big 12 or Spread offense. They're gonna give up yards and eventually those yards lead to points.
