Women are not made of sugar, spice and everything nice, they’re human beings, they’re not inherently better or worst than their male counterparts.
Too many people approach this topic with the idea that women are pure angelic souls until men get our hands on them, and that’s not the case at all.

Lots of “white knights” here, you treat her according to how she treats you. You don’t necessarily have to be a jerk, but you reciprocate the energy she gives you.

A great bit of the time the so called good men (whatever that means) weren’t that woman’s first choice anyway, she only considered him when her other options either dried up or didn’t pan out.

A lot of men are gluttons for punishment and choose to put themselves in the midst of headache some other man created.
