The South is the fattest, dumbest, and poorest section of the United States. The reason why the COL is so low down there, is because of supply and demand. People don't want to live there.

You don't know your history sir. The South's lower cost of living is an intentional result of decisions made by racist Southern politicians in the mid-1900s during the New Deal and Fair Deal eras.

You are living in NYC which is a bubble in MANY ways....Its a culture onto itself. Detroit, NYC, Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, Twin Cities, Cleveland, etc are all "in the north" and are culturally NOTHING like each other.

I personally can't stand the south :manny: I hate how slow it is and the accents slightly annoy me.

The Midwest is not the North.

Atlanta is damn near "lil Detroit" and "lil New York" with the amount of transplants from both who would disagree with your assertions.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
B more got a NY twang to their accent and swag

Calling people “yo” and shyt

Baltimore folks have a unique accent. Its one of the few accents I can spot easily. Im lost at the yo phrase can you put in a sentence because i thought everyone says yo lol
Up north cities are more bustling, in large part, due to the layout of the city. You'll notice that cities with a larger public transportation network, will usually have more pedestrian traffic than a car centric city would. Also, because northern cities housing stock it a lot are more condensed than southern cities. Boston, NYC, DC are majority apartments, and Baltimore and Philly are the only two majority rowhouse cities in the country. People in this part of the country live in relatively tight quarters compared to the south.

The south has better weather, better economies, better public school, lower cost of living, more bang for your buck, and is generally friendlier to Entrepreneurship and business. That's why people are flocking to the south.

Better economy than where? NYC or the whole north in general because NYC, DC, and Boston have strong economies (Ill look into this later when I get back home)? Jobs pay you quarters down south compared to other locations in the country. The lower cost of living is overrated in may southern cities (Miami, Charleston, Atlanta to be exact)

But like I said the south is for families and people who want to be comfortable.

When it comes to big salaries, hustling, entrepreneurship, schools and networking with important people, the north will always dominate. The south isnt a region you go to if you want to be at the top of the food chain in success. Its not by mistake that some of the most successful people who are billionaires or entrepreneurs live in up north cities from the west coast to the east coast.

Heck even the cities in Canada such as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are much bigger powerhouses than the south of the US.

Sorry its a fact. Most people who often want to succeed through networking often more times than most will go to an up north city. Thats where the top salaries are, the fortune 500 companies are, and if you start a business there are more people up north to market to.

The south is for people like the OP who just want to be comfy.

Atlanta and Houston have as many Fortune 500 companies as NY and NJ fyi.

This statement is only semi true if you're counting Mid Atlantic states but the trend is definitely Fortune 500s moving HQs to the South.

Also once again, Black business ownership is much higher in the south, both in terms of raw numbers and percentages.

Up north is more diverse, has much better food

To who? White folks?

Lowcountry cuisine >
Creole cuisine>
Texas and Memphis bbq >
Southern Soul Food (not that shyt they feed nikkas in Harlem) >

And there are plenty of Asian, Mexican, and Caribbean/African envclaves and eateries all over the South.

So really you must be talking about European derived cuisines rated by Zagat for cacs to eat at? lol

NYC arguably has the cleanest tap water in the country so Im not sure where you got that from.

Tap water in 2017? :russ:

Most people in NYC, like everywhere else, are employees, not entrepreneurs. And its way cheaper and easier to start something down here. So stop with that lie.

Secondly, Atlanta has a lower unemployment rate than NYC, so I'm not sure what employment difficulty you are speaking of- Unemployment Rates for Metropolitan Areas

Thirdly, even if some people move back up north, most migration in the North is out of it:

domestic-migration-county-map.png

I lived in NYC for 28 years, and I still miss it, but realized how full of shyt NYers can be when I had a conversation with somebody. I told a dude we were moving to NC, and he said "ooooooooooooooooooooooooo theyre racist down there, you and your FAWG will get killed".... but then he turned around and said how much he loved his time in Arizona, the only place outside of NYC he had ever been.

Not to mention, both me and especially my wife are making way more money down here. Like damn near double :francis: At the minimum I think the money and opportunity is not much different, but the cost of living and quality of life is way better. It's a no brainer.

1.)Who lied though? I responded to a comment that asked "Would you go down south to start a business or be an employee up North?". Hats a lie because most people coming down south are not starting their own business. They are there to provide a cheaper lifestyle for their families.

2.) Your sources are off. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics New York City's unemployment rate was 5% as of July 2017, while Atlanta's unemployment rate was 5.6%. Sources below

NYC
https://www.labor.ny.gov/stats/nyc/

Atlanta
Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, GA Economy at a Glance

(I picked Atlanta because thats where a lot of folks from NYC flock to).

3.) Nobody ever said people up North arent flocking down south in high numbers. You arent saying anything that people do not know. The topic of discussion was that its for overrated reasons.

4.) Honestly speaking New Yorkers are as full of themselves as much as you lack basic reading comprehension. It has nothing to do with being full of themselves. NYC is still a growing city till this very day is about to hit 9 million people. DC is also a city thats growing and becoming crowded. Boston another Northern city thats growing till this very day. LA and San Fran are also growing with population.

As I said in my eaarlier post the north and south cater to different types of lifestyle. The south is more families and middle class living. The north is for young people who are trying to grind and take advantage of networking in their fields or take on a position with top salary. The south doesn't offer that to young people and most people would prefer to open a business in a northern city since its diverse and bustling.

NYC is one of highest rated places to eat food in the world. You're naming cuisines but the only city in the south known for good food and good quality restaurants is Charleston and New Orleans. LMAO. Stick to reality homie.

The same cacs who will tell you Sylvias is amazing soul food when I can hit multiple cafeterias around my way making way better versions for a 1/5th the price.

If you eat at 5 star restaurants everyday then sure NYC everyday, otherwise, the only thing I miss about NYC food is the easily accessible local pizza spots and delis. All the cheap good ethnic spots, carts, food trucks can be found in any major Southern metro.
