NXT Takeovers Are GREATNESS.

The crowds always hype, EVERYBODY shines...actual surprises, great matches, great commentary, old school wrestling stuff like managers, wild characters, matches that seem like a “fight” not tryna recreate “Savage n Steamboat”.

I love the old school presentation of the Takeovers, the lighting, the commentary are all great.

Then like what you said, those matches are piff, hard hitting and believable like they're really trying to kill each other.

Yeah, the main roster on ppv nights feel like they tryna cook Thanksgiving dinner for a Super Bowl party. Way too much

Takeovers actually feel like PPVs. Outside of Wrestlemania and maybe Summerslam, most of the PPVs just seem like special edition Raw/Smackdown. There's a big fight feel about even the smallest matches on the card.

Also this. It's a symptom of NXT in general - NXT looks much more favorable at times to the main roster simply due to the lack of oversaturation that you normally get from the latter.

Never watch the nxt weekly shows and I agree. The video packages, commentators and talent make even the lower card matches feel important.

Whoever books the matches down there are doing great jobs too. Rarely ever see any DQ finishes either unless the story calls for it.
