Universities like Duke use federal R&D money, different from relying FASFA Title IV students as they are a solid research institution who attract upper-middle class to wealthy students (parents) and produce quality alumni and benefactors to maintain enrollment and provide endowments unlike the welfare queens (public state universities and for profit).

What I'm curious about is what will happen to these "boot camps" that have popped up everywhere like General Assembly. They are even more expensive, shorter-term courses that aren't accredited, are often figuring out curriculum as they go, and require sometimes higher interest private loans.

I've taken some of these courses and it feels like a disaster waiting to happen, although that there are no federally subsidized loans means a higher barrier to entry, which might be the saving grace, as it probably won't ever be a situation where masses of students suddenly wake up with nowhere to go. It'll be a handful who probably had some ability to afford the classes and they'll know the classes were never accredited anyways.

They're basically the same thing but because of the short time frame of boot camp classes they can be grouped into the seminar category.

There are better places to get your certs. Most state/county colleges offer better/cheaper programs.

Dodged a bullet not going to ITT, I thought it was a cheap alternative to university when I got out of high school. I still remember sitting in this ladies office on its campus talking about I need to invest in my future by taking a massive loan to pay them

I hope everyone that knew this shyt was a scam and sold it anyways dies broke and miserable, and in debt
