I’ve always wondered how can someone in LA be a clippers fan instead of a Laker fan. Can one of you brehs explain this to me?

The clippers name and logo are from the roots in San Diego.

They always been red since they moved to San Diego. Clipper ship is engrained in San Diego from the large Navy presence and the nautical culture in SD..

Imo they should of changed the name back in the 80s when they 1st moved to LA.

- As a kid, maybe you liked their colors/logo more than the Lakers so you stuck with them.
- Clippers might have been more accessible for whatever reason (cheaper tickets).
- You don't relate to or dislike Lakers fans (not the team).

Clippers have been a solid team since the 2012 season. That’s 13/14 years now. This ain’t the old 80’s, 90’s and 00’s Clippers that were bottom feeders.
