Portsmouth. It's by Norfolk, Hampton, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake.
Im familiar with the area. I live in Virginia Beach.
I asked because I saw you mention selling down at the ocean front.
Selling at the virginia beach ocean front is never going to happen. They won't allow food trucks at all and if you want to own a restaurant on the ocean front you're going need a ridiculous amount of cash and strong political connects.
Now in the areas outside of Virginia Beach you definitely have the potential to be successful.
My uncle bought a hotdog stand for cheap in New York.
He brought it down here and sells hotdogs in Norfolk primarily.
At first I didn't take it seriously but he actually does very well for himself. He makes enough to pay his mortgage and keep his family taken care of.
I don't know how you are as far as people skills, but if you plan on selling food on the street you have to have the right energy for it.
It's hard work but being an independent business owner, no matter how small, is definitely something to be proud of.
Sleep on it, and if it's still in your heart, go for it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
