I remember when it was a modestly successful little gem on tv that only the hip people knew about. now its a fukking pop culture phenomenon, breaking records and shyt. I hate how its become the go-to example (along with game of thrones) for people to prove their superior taste in tv shows. where the fukk where yall fakkits during season 1

Vince Gilligan mesmerizes people with all that 80s action background music creating tension for the audience and shaky cam closeups.

It would have been much better if it was on HBO, Showtime etc, the cinematography, writing and acting is still great though but the show is still annoying.

I watched the 1st 2 seasons in like 2010. My friend had talked to me about it before but I had never watched. At 1st I thought the show was overrated but after watching it over the years, it is great TV.

A lot of times I prefer buying the boxset for TV shows once the show has ended. Like that u can watch it all in a row without waiting for the new episodes to come out. I did that with OZ and The Sopranos.

Still think outside of Walt, everyone else on the show is a fukking waste
Recognize the actor who plays GUS, so yeah, maybe season 3 will be better
But that shyt with his family is utterly annoying

It still is only modestly successful...lol especially compared to the numbers Walking Dead does and Mad men the awards magnet. Granted, I love BB more than both those shows.

it didnt get good til season 4. seems like it exploded during/after that. most shows get worse but BB got much better in every way from season 4 onward.

Eh, that's not entirely true. First off "TWD" is the highest rated show on cable, any net work. This season premiere of "BB" makes it #2 on cable, any network.

And contrary to popular belief "Mad Men" has only won 14 more awards than "Breaking Bad", despite having 2 more seasons than "Breaking Bad".

"Dexter" is modestly successful. "Homeland" is modestly successful. "Boardwalk Empire" is modestly successful. etc etc etc.

Yea but those Mad Men 14 more awards include 4 straight seasons of winning an Emmy for Best Drama Series. And if you wanna be technical these shows on AMC are the highest rated cuz you don't have to pay to watch like HBO.
I have no doubt 10 mil people would watch Game of Thrones if it were on AMC. Lost was trash and it was pulling in 10-15 mil people per episode. Awards and numbers aside...BB is my fav hands down.

The Emmys are still a big deal regardless. Everybody with half a brain knows the Wire got jerked something ridiculous year after year. Not a surprise there.
Still though, Mad Men didn't win those awards cuz its garbage.
