Never understood this mentality. I listen to all types of shyt daily. Some rap, some jazz, some alt country, soul, some beat tapes, etc depending on my mood or what I'm doing. Sometimes I don't listen to rap for a week, sometimes no jazz for a week. It flows.

I've been listening to a lot of Prince lately, revisiting all his stuff in memory of him. Also lots of jazz. Donald Byrd, Yuseef Lateef, Pharaoh Sanders, shyt like that. Ethereal jazz or whatever you want to call it.

I understand where op coming from. I still love rap, but i only listened to it maybe 1/3 of when i was younger. Rap is a young mans game as it appeals to the ideals of that demographic audience. As i get older, i appreciate older classics like soul and funk of the 70s, roots reggae and r&b of the 80s. But 90s urban music will always be in heavy rotation cuz thats what i grew up with.

Lol you'll be back. I used to listen to rap EVERYDAY, damn near every minute. Then when you travel, see the world, be around different people... things change. Especially since I am about that square life now. I still listen to rap, it's just doesn't dominate my speakers anymore.
