I've never heard anyone say Elden Ring is the best story of any game they've ever played?

Groot worked because he had talkative friends too.
But you can't just be solo adventuring by yourself 99% of the time not saying shyt, and have a good story.
Even Cast Away gave Tom Hanks a volley ball to talk to
It has some great characters and locations, and backstory for those characters and locations. But overall it's far from one of the best videogame stories when most people play it and barely care about the story or even understand the story. And I played through it twice with 200 hrs in it.

I do think its harder to mask the silent protagonist as graphics gets better though. Its harder to suspend your belief when people are talking at a protagonist that just kind of looks like a puppet
But npc’s in Fromsoft games just sort of talk at you and then giggle to themselves so its not that big of a problem
