Next thing they showed this highlight and it was the one and only time Jordan was ever seen looking foolish on D. The media at the time were looking to kill AI for his shooting %, his shorts, his shady background. That moment let em know that they couldn't stop him from being a star. In a bubble it might not seem to carry the kind of weight that it did at that moment but in context it was

You got to remember the moment it was like a passing of the torch moment. A rookie AI going at the 5-time Champ eventually 6-time MJ. The Bulls played this game late in the season they were steamrolling folks. AI always played with a chip on his shoulder and take as a challenge when MJ start guarding him late in the game. AI scored his then career high 37 points that game but fall to the Bulls in a close one 108-104. As a rookie he let the NBA know he was coming.

If you were any type of ball player you went out to that court and either pretended you were Jordan or acted like you scored on him. So for a 6ft rookie to get him like we've never seen was crazy. Yeah he was 33 but he wasn't no slouch.
