France was looking to build a base in the Ivory Coast and Nigeria to quell anti French colonial sentiment.

It appears that the reason for the coups in the Coup belt is because iliterate untrained unsupported Troops was sent out to some desert fort in the middle of nowhere and they ended up getting killed

The troops got tired of that so they could either muinity and defect to the rebels or stage a coup, Staging a coup is easier and you get to be in charge of the country ( that you control)

It’s no real reason why the army would backdoor him They’re not losing a war Cameroon is not dirt poor and as long as the checks clear it’s a cool job.

Theres some beef in the part that’s english speaking but it’s nothing too serious ( the rebels don’t have foriegn support) so it wouldn’t really be in then benefit of the army to take over.
