I fukks with Fantano's opinions a lot of the time, he's put me on some ill shyt a time and time again (cloud nothings) but I tend to stray away from dudes musical opinion on hip hop shyt..


bruh will legit dikkride some shyt like Cities Aviv or Death Grips like its the greatest thing ever (I like both but I meeeeeean.. nah) and turn around and pan beautiful albums like MBDTF..


and I feel like he reviews and listens to tooo much shyt too soon. like how can something genuinely sink in when you've listened to and reviewed 5 albums in a 2 week span. at least sit with the shyt for a week before you try to make a full out review.. but yea, it is what it is.. I personally like the album. I'm a J. Cole fan.. some nikkas aren't gonna, that's fine. It makes me no difference, I'ma fukk with it regardless

Just finished my first listen and wow I'm glad I supported this. To me this is right up there in the aoty discussion and Coles best work to date. The beats are nice, the singing is good (sounds like he was inspired by mos def), lyrically he's on point and the overall message/content is what we need more of in today's hip hop from a mainstream artist. He comes off real genuine and relatable on this which is what all this new shyt lacks. I'm gonna cop a physical copy too.

maybe if i never heard that sample used so well before but Cole's use does nothing for me..best part of the song is the first 16 seconds.
beat should've been a lot more warm in the mould of LL's Pink Cookies.

it's an easy enough listen within the flow of the album but i wouldn't listen to it on it's own.

He album is boring. And the content aint saying nothing as a whole. Rapping about ignorant shyt over soulful beats doesnt make you deep or any better than a lil boosie for example. And i prefer lil boosie to cole anyday. kendrick is better. Drake is better. Nas is better..

not sayin cole is the worst but he is over rated like big krit on here. They both can make decent songs at times or drop a witty line in a verse but their albums are repetitive, uninspired, and boring.
