Cole did it. He reached his potential. I don't even know where to begin. As a day 1 fan, I'm so overcome with joy right now.

This don't sound like Kanye, this don't sound like Outkast, or any of the other influences Cole has heavily pulled from in the past. This just sound like Cole. On all his retail albums it always felt like Cole was searching for his own pocket, almost like he was experimenting and still developing himself. I felt like on FHD he had finally came into his own and this is like a refibed version of that album.

The illest part is that you can tell he's in such a cozy place musically now he was able to bring the type of bars and hunger while spittin we barely heard from him since FNL.

Haha man I feel my age when I hear people saying Cole sampled that "Bryson Tiller" track, or when girls don't recognize the sample on 'Exchange'.....'Swing My Way' was a 98 classic, that's some of the first r&b I really got into at like age 12 or 13....I still play the original, that's a timeless song, that manages to fully capture the late 90's in three minutes, but a really dope sample too.

I felt nothing while on the first listen of this album. It was the usual cole. I'm just happy it was short.

I feel like the album is cool, but it reminds me more of his Truly Yours tape rather than Forest Hills (which i preferred).

Would have been better if it was less depressing sounding, but if its a concept album then :yeshrug:

Also is it just me or is Immortal using the same sample as Banks on Insomniac.

Title track might be Cole's best track. Wow.
:mjcry:
:wow:

Will continue listening before making any final statements. Some awkward singing throughout the album, almost off key. I feel like this "no features" shyt hurts Cole as an artist and producer because he's left carrying burdens that he can't really carry. Specifically some of the melodies. A lot of them would sound dope if he simply gave a singer the reference and had her do it.
