How are Cole fans taking this? Sideline Story seemed to be a universal disappointment among them. Based on one listen I think it's better and more memorable, but it still doesn't live up to the "potential" nikkas thought Cole had.

It's a step in the right direction. He just needs to find the right balance of this and his Warm Up/FNL sound. If he finds that he could easily deliver the album we thought he would come with the first time around. He's on his way there to me, but I'll accept this for the time being.

I don't like comparing any of them to Nas or Jay, but I agree Kendrick and Drake are far more proven right now. Not a Drake fan but Take Care is dope and clearly was a huge album. Obviously GKMC is a modern classic. And so far Cole has released a meh debut and a decent sophomore album. He's way behind right now IMO, and it largely has to do with his production. Album has multiple songs that just don't work or sound good to me, and the general quality feels more like a mixtape than an ALBUM. Take Care sounds like an album, brehs. GKMC sounds like an album.

take care sounds like a r&b album though outside of a handful of songs.


cole must be doing something right since everybody wants to compare him to drake.
