Cole makes the pop stars mad as hell. How the fukk does Drake be on TV, on radio, and everywhere else with a new alnum, still make less than "boring" J. Cole?
Sell your soul for peanuts and fame.
It's laughable. People call him boring as if that's an undisputed fact, when the man has been succeeding for a good while now. But it's hate, people don't like seeing other people win.
Cole is succeeding because he connects to the people the easiest. Out of Kendrick, Drake and Cole, Cole is the one who's the most like us. Most people aren't a Kendrick, coming from the environment he did. And I know most people aren't Drake, who lived in a pretty wealthy neighborhood and starred in a highly syndicated Canadian TV show. Cole came up in a relatively good home, went to University, and focused on his dreams... Which is essentially the 18-25 demographic right there, and it expands every day.
The man has an enormous fan base. I'm 23, and I'm a huge Cole fan myself and many of the people I know are as well. These kids are going crazy over his shyt, they're quoting things from The Come Up Vol. 1 all the way up to Forest Hills Drive (Especially No Role Modelz as of late). He has always been a thing, but because some of the people in here are super insecure when their favorite rapper might not be flourishing in a certain area as well as him and can't seem to give Cole the credit he deserves, you're always going to see some foolishness.
Cole being boring is an opinion, not a fact. Because if that were anywhere even
close to being objectively true, he wouldn't have made it past Born Sinner. The results speak for themselves, and that's the bottom line.
