This is a lie. Cole was that one Myspace rapper nikkas actually checked out for in 2008. He had that one mixtape out with DJ On Point back then. Jay-Z basically gambled on Cole though, cause no other major was trying to sign him at that time because everyone was on that snap, trap crap music back when J Cole's very first mixtape came out.
Correction then, no one I or anyone in my circle knew or talked about.

He wasn't like most rappers who have been signed in the past years, who all had some type of fame. J. Cole was the last rapper who I was introduced to by a major label. I was introduced to some cats via OF's label, Schoolboy via TDE and stuff like that but not really major.

350000 albums with just internet promo means he can't sell out a show by himself :patrice:

Hes also smart as hell to do those impromptu $1 shows in a ton of cities in the past, that'll grow a fanbase all over the country quickly

If you're saying with these ticket prices which are pretty reasonable (and also getting additional acts) that people are more inclined to go, then I agree with you. But people are coming to see him.
I said all of this. I never said that people don't want to see him because that's false. I would like to see him myself :takedat:

People are going to see him but he is not selling out by himself, the additional acts helped him sell out because those additional acts also have large fan bases compared to the usualy additional act.

People are stupid, you included.

No one is a fan of J. Cole because of Jay-z, no one is saying that. It's because of himself and Roc Nation, you illiterate fukkbird.

Jay is where he is due to
Jay Brown, Dame, Stoute, Lyor, Russell and them (despite him partnering with them and not being signed). Not cause he's taking pictures with them but their expertise, contacts and power. And he'll tell you this himself, just like Cole thanks Roc Nation and Mark Pitt. Or Kanye thanking Dame and Jay. None of those cats are Tech N9ne, they've had a lot of help and J. Cole especially. You fukkheads think that The Roc's industry praise is just some random shyt :smh:.
No shyt, Jay gave him the platform you fukking idiot.

But he didn't market him like he's some genius... he made Cole go out there and develop his own fan base... plain and simple...

For instance, he gave more features and collaborated more with his peers such as Drake. Jays got more songs with Drake than he does with Cole, and Drake ain't even his artist. Stop acting like Jay did everything for this kid to succeed.
