fukk outta here... Cole was getting shyt on like crazy because Jay took forever to give him a verse for his debut.... Or dudes joked there was no Hov/Cole pic online... Dudes were shytting on Cole Jay treating him like a side chick, now ya'll wanna give Jay credit?!? fukk outta here
Lol you dumb ass birdbrain, first of all you've got to learn how to structure sentences.

The first thing Jay said when he started Roc Nation was that he wasn't going to make the same mistakes that he made with Roc-A-Fella. All that family BS, he said that he was going to create great artists not artists living of his buzz. Do you think they are at the same parties all the time without being in the same photo is some random shyt? Or that nearly every photo that exists of them is a sneak shot just for fun?

Does your dumb mongoloid ass think that they are getting all these major athletes, artists, Jay Brown being ranked as one of the most powerful executives in music every year etc. just for nothing? Look at every single artist on Roc Nation, managed or not. None of them are in Jay-z's mouth or hanging with Jay-z except the ones that go way back i.e. Rihanna and Kanye. I'm not seeing him with the worlds biggest dj's Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 or HAIM, Vic Mensa and these people or shouting out Meek and on. Same with his athletes he shouts out Lebron and Kobe 10 times more than he's shouted on all his athletes combined. That's how it's supposed to be, he's not trying to create Memphis Bleek 2.0, Lloyd Banks 2.0 and on. They* are trying to create Kanye West, a dude with a fanbase completely separated from Jay's, and they managed to do so with a lot of powerful people and big moves.

J Cole went platinum with NO FEATURES breh. And Wet Dreamz is still in rotation in many areas.:laff::laff::laff::laff:

Try saying that about YG or Sean. :what:

it went platinum because of the awe of him not doing any promo.

One people heard it, it was a different story.

More people gave props to Seans project than Cole

Wet Dreamz is not getting play in as many settings as IDFWU, lets be honest.

Thats all well and good fakkit

But Cole haters weren't saying that in the beginning stages of his career.

Cole built his fan base by himself, not because of Jay. No one is a Cole fan because he's signed to Jay, I'm not even a fan of Jay like that.

Point is, you fakkits can't play both side of the fence... In the beginning of his career Cole gets clowned because Jays not around... now that he's successful, people wanna give Jay credit for his "brilliant" marketing scheme.... sit your corny assess down.

:dahell: i swear some of yall nikkas trolling, foh...it went platinum because he built a loyal fan base through his previous albums ans mixtapes.

If his album was wack, he would not be selling out venues. J. Cole has always shied away from having a bunch bum nikkas featured on his album. A bunch of artists try to make it by getting features from who is hot at the moment.

He produces his own beats, actually takes his time to write lyrics which is waaayyy harder than rapping about money..cars and hoes.

Some of yall in here some clowns:heh:.

Not really a Cole fan but dude seems genuine..

He deserves his fan base..

He's been marketed perfect for his lane.. It's actually been better for him to not attach himself to Jay so much imo

FHD got mad hype after and love from nearly everybody when it dropped. idk what the fukk you're talking about. Lmfao DSP didn't do shyt for Sean except moderate commercial success :pachaha:. The actual fan hype was "eh..."

stop trying to rewrite history

People are stupid, you included.

No one is a fan of J. Cole because of Jay-z, no one is saying that. It's because of himself and Roc Nation, you illiterate fukkbird.

Jay is where he is due to
Jay Brown, Dame, Stoute, Lyor, Russell and them (despite him partnering with them and not being signed). Not cause he's taking pictures with them but their expertise, contacts and power. And he'll tell you this himself, just like Cole thanks Roc Nation and Mark Pitt. Or Kanye thanking Dame and Jay. None of those cats are Tech N9ne, they've had a lot of help and J. Cole especially. You fukkheads think that The Roc's industry praise is just some random shyt :smh:.

Of course these birdbrains don't even know how labels work.
They've done a lot to make it seem like J. Cole is alone, they had some of the best internet people promoting his shyt (one of which was headhunted just the other day to run Sony's digital department), headlining Jays festivals, setting him up with the correct festivals, direct marketing, guided him, the co-sign, got him big hit records and a lot of things. Even today, his 3 weed carriers are all performing at Jays Philly/LA festival with Budweiser.

Dude was getting Nike, Powerade and on endorsements before his debut album, before his co-sign no one in the world had heard of him. All magazines, tv- shows and everything, first tour, open a sold out international arena tour for Rihanna before his album.

Of course he's dope and determined so that helped, but J. Cole got the full power of Roc Nation.
His female "counterpart" in UK Rita Ora got it as well, she's not a very good singer though. But she's designed her own Adidas line, face of Cavalli, is in movies, endorsement deals with like everyone and is super famous.

This is a lie. Cole was that one Myspace rapper nikkas actually checked out for in 2008. He had that one mixtape out with DJ On Point back then. Jay-Z basically gambled on Cole though, cause no other major was trying to sign him at that time because everyone was on that snap, trap crap music back when J Cole's very first mixtape came out.
