Nas gave his blessings
KOD's beat and hook is amateurish. That's prolly his worst intro song he's had out of all of his albums.
Photograph is cool, but just sounds off.
The Cut Off is ruined with the singing and voice distortion
Motiv8 is trash to me, beat is bad, hook is awful... It's like the opposite of Kendrick's Untitled 07 (Levitate Levitate Levitate) from a few years ago
There are some dope songs here and there. And there's some more singing that doesn't ruin the songs, but I'm honestly confused when people are really saying this album is his best. This album isn't even definitively better than 4YEO IMO
After giving a serious listen this shyt amazing
This is easily his most repayable album

how would you brehs rank his official albums? no haters, just curious to see what his best joint is as this is up there in my opinion
I consume and critique every thing I listen to.@GoldenGlove and @CrimsonTider do this in every topic about Cole.
Gotta put Cole down to prop up Lupe/Kendrick/Drake
THEY SHOULD'VE NEVER LET YOU nikkaS HAVE TRAP BEATS AND DRILL MUSIC. IT HAS LITERALLY RUINED YALL EARS. SMH YALLL nikkaS LITERALLY ADDICTED TO 808s.I like J Cole but his beats are
I get what he’s doing
His fan base are into him and his movement not his music
And I get it
He says a lot of dope shyt that needs to be said
But some of his beats are so
And his best beats are![]()

Maybe it's because I listen to a lot of releases and go about generating my own opinion on it prior to looking at what the internet has to say about it. I'm a Cole fan, but unlike you Cole stans I actually don't blindly deem everything he releases as amazing.
And it's not like there's been a drought in quality hip-hop releases in the last 6-12 months. So when you consistently listen to good music that drops, you're not going to be as easily impressed by any and everything.
I've been consistent with my criticism of Cole since FHD (which I feel is unbelievably overrated). His bars have improved since then, but he still has yet to step out of his comfort zone and really challenge himself musically as an artist.
If you're giving me 10-11 songs they all need to deliver... Not just 7 or 8 of them. The margin for error is smaller.
I'm realizing that hip-hop fans really aren't hip-hop fans anymore. They're just fans of their artists and that's it. Completely clueless and dismissive of damn near everything else happening within the genre... That's how Cole can spit out a project in 2 weeks with some songs with unpolished production, and lazy singing in them and people call it great... Because they really don't know any better.
