I'm halfway through this, gonna finish it off later tonight. So far it's alright, kinda boring but I think that's just me not being that big a fan of Cole. I've probably liked 15-20 out of the 100 Cole songs I've ever heard. I respect his artistry, I just don't find it compelling like his core fans do. Something's missing there that lets my attention wander.

Saw someone complaining Jack doesn't get west coast artists, he just did an interview with Ras Kass, check that out. Also has a great one with Ice T which is how I got put onto this podcast in the first place. Would love to hear him bring Snoop on the show.

This episode gave me a better understanding of Cole but it also reminded me why I don't truly get into his music like that. He's a great person but part of the reason most of us are such big fans of hip hop is because the icons like biggie, jay, nas, pac were all larger than life. While I do understand the message, I don't necessarily need a rapper reminding me how much it sucks to pay back Sallie Mae.

I like to hear about everything including music/artistry personal life, opinions about things that are not related to music. I didn't listen to this whole interview because it got kind of boring and i got annoyed, I also had to go to class. I liked the angie martinez interview better than this one. She covered a little bit of everything. & I disagree about the breakfast club being "whack".

you're under 25 huh?

Yo hearing Cole talk about spring lake, blacks trailer parks, military housing I'm like yo this is basically what my story would be if I was a rapper. A nikka really made it from outta here.

Before they put the fence up it was mad people on the porch taking pictures and hanging out I ain't know they was going on the roof and stealing the signs tho :mjlol:

We made it breh.....#919, #910:salute:

Halfway through it this is a insightful interview

I'm a long time Cole fan but I didn't like his latest album but it's great hearing how he thought of the concept

already has. and its not his job to line an album up with a popular rapper. he JUST said he's not worrying about what other dudes do, he's focused on himself, now. (but for shyts and giggles, he has already outsold kanye head to head on the release date, so there goes that theory). as for the ferguson thing. he said it was a favor to his man at complex to even do that little interview about it. if you want to use that to illustrate other motives, fine. i thought he was genuinely concerned and nothing he has done or said since then has contradicted that. if he's playing this, he's doing it to a T, because every interview and the music has been right in line with his equality "stance." i mean the week his album dropped he went on letterman and performed a none radio friendly song that wasnt on the album....

as for the rest of that, i havent seen any footage of him popping up on people and inviting them to his old home, so if its promotion and he hasnt put up a site or atleast a youtube page to show "hey, i care yall, look!" its kinda half thought out. either that or dare i say it might be...genuine.

I still disagree. I like his music, and I'm done arguing against him, so stop quoting me.

Cole has always made it a point to not talk about his relationship. Angie Martinez try to get it out of him also but he just won't talk about it because he wants his privacy. Fans want know too much these days.
I know. I've seen almost all of his interviews. He used to at least admit that he has someone. I know why he's so private when it comes to relationships .

@Big Boss

Here's the episode with his gf. They cut the begining off the beginning.

Yo... Cole almost out here like..
I'm leading the league in at least six statistical categories right now:
Illest flow, most consistent, realest stories
Most charisma, I set the most trends
And my interviews are hotter

3,200 isn't easy to come by if you're living check to check

Most people who aren't well off don't have well off friends either.
I live check to check right now. I've been in those moments, guess people react different to pressure.

Just got done listening. I would've liked the interview to be kept more on the lighter side since Cole already has a ton of 'serious' interviews. Still enjoyed it, people calling it boring probably don't listen to podcast like that.

Yo real talk there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with this interview whatsoever it was very insightful and informative when it comes to Cole, his inspiration for the album, and his experiences within the industry.

People caring about who he's fukking and his scuffle with Diddy can go to lipstick alley for that nonesense. I don't remember listening to a Jay, Nas, Common, or Wu-Tang interview with baited breath anticipating some Soap Opera update on who they were fukking (the Nas-Jay beef era excluded)

Like Drake's pops said "Only the musics gonna last. All that OTHER bullshyt is here today and gone tomorrow"
