Nah, it has to be a big artist. A Drake caliber artist, that can come through and push the envelope. One that might not be a "conscious rapper" so to speak, but one that can control the mainstream and keep that as a layer of his music, while feeding the other demographic too.
I believe that Drake will slow down like crazy after his next album drops in Spring 2015. YMCMB is going down, with the recent Nicki underperforming album. More topics of racism in music popped up in Twitter this week than the last 2 years combined. A change is surely coming.

Yeah that's what it mean, there has to his successor. Even if he doesn't fall ALL THE WAY OFF, (and I hope he doesn't because even though I'm not a fan or supporter of his music post Take Care, I know he's capable of making very good music), there has to be someone who comes along and occupies that spot. Not just making the best music, because Kendrick is already doing that, but a guy who's charismatic enough to shift the culture back to where it needs to be, and make the right things cool again. Nicki struggling to do 150k and Cole blasting everyone away is VERY TELLING though.

You right. I believe that artist is already here, but about to make a lot of noise soon.

2014 Forest Hills Drive has gone gold brehs,

J. Cole’s winning run continues on the charts. The Roc Nation rapper’s third album2014 Forest Hills Drive which topped the Billboard 200 chart last week (his third consecutive number 1) has moved 135k copies in its second week (119k plus streams).

This takes his total to 510k, thereby reaching the Gold mark in just two weeks. It’s a huge accomplishment for the young emcee, given that the album was released with minimal promotion, no single or video. #coleworld indeed.
