Man talked shyt for years about how no one could see him in the mic, he got challenged, he dropped a diss, apologized saying it didn’t feel right and he was going to take the song down immediately, but left it up until first week numbers came out.
He talks about how the beef was going to go too far but is still out here defending the guy that crossed the line first asking why everyone picking on Drake knowing dude has a history of being a habitual line stepper.
Sometimes trying to remain neutral is picking a side.
He definitely made a choice and people are shytting on him for it.
You want to back out because it was going to get nasty but then come out months later and say you would’ve come out on top if you stayed in?
No one wants to hear that shyt.
You say rap beef is bad and would weigh heavy on you when it’s Dot but you’ve got no problem dedicating a verse to some local rapper on your latest project? Yeah, people are going to clown you.
Pretty much this.

None of this happens without that Like That verse sparking it off, period. If you just really want to go back further than that, then start at Control.
