drake, kendrick, future are CLEARLY over him for his generation. id give him the 4th or 5th spot between him and travis.

whats coles blueprint, illmatic, life after death or all eyez on me? The Warm Up (j coles best project ever and only thing I would ever argue is classic along with friday night lights) doesnt even compare to any of those 4s top 3 albums :mjlol:

these j cole stans in here probably think wet dreamz is a classic single
Are we sure he is over schoolboy q, smoke dza, curren$y, big krit, bankroll fresh, Joey badass, asap ferg, chief keef, herb, Freddie Gibbs, boldly James, ab soul

Claiming Fab has had a better career/run in his respective era than Cole is like saying Big Sean or Wale are in the same tier as Cole right now.

Jada and Cam were both in huge rap movements and have accomplished a lot and are well respected in the game, but I wouldn't say either have been as big as a draw as Cole at his peak.

Cole legitimately has always been comfortably in the top 3 of his generation (Drake, Kendrick and Cole).

This is coming from an old head who grew up listening to Fab, Cam and The Lox btw

I like Cole but this reminds me of the days when dudes on forums would gas up Talib Kweli because he was "conscious" even though Mos was rapping circles around him and quite a lot of "non-conscious" rappers could rap better than him too.

Cole is good and his career is undeniably consistent since he literally has had a number 1 album for a decade straight and still can put up numbers and catch a buzz.

But, strictly in terms of music, Cole peaked with his mixtapes ironically no different from Fab and Kiss(Cam has actual dope albums though).

Strictly emceeing wise, Cole does the bare minimum but his real strength is his introspection and social awareness. Cole can spit but he's not really a bars oriented rapper or a "yooo...let me replay that verse" type of rapper. He's more of a dude you listen to for life perspectives and messages.

So, it really depends on your preference. I'd honestly rather listen to Cole than Fab but Jada and Cam have waaay more personality, charisma, bars, and a better mic presence than Cole.

J. Cole is the epitome of "Most improved".
I don't know how in the fukk you can love the craft of Hip-Hop and not
see it.

From songwriting (verses, beats, concepts etc.) to production (crisp, banging, and high quality across the board), music
videos etc.

From top to bottom dude has earned his spot as one of last decades top 3 and frankly if you're a rapper RIGHT NOW, he's one
to study.

One of the best out and I'm someone who used to place bro as a lower tier "Producer rapper".

This is a bullshyt post.

How can you say he peaked during his mixtape days when he's gotten much better lyrically since then? His feature run and albums since FHD are examples of this.

Also, Cole is a legit star and headlining artist. Please explain how the fukk Talib is being mentioned or even comparable.
Cole has never been a super lyrical miracle rapper. WTF.

Dudes tryna turn Jermaine Cole into fukking Logic or Hopsin.
There's a difference between some preachy, psuedo-deep "Conscious to be conscious" moron
and cats like J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar.

Dudes really need to step up their analysis game if they're going to come with these out there ridiculous takes.

Like bruh, the shyt being said in here would make sense if fukking Macklemore didn't pop in the same decade.

Also, we need to stop fronting on Talib Kweli, dude is a legend at this point and is a legit Emcee who held his own with
cats like Mos and Common.

This forum is NY biased, and old head sponsored no one but this forum is putting them nikkas over Cole all time :mjlol:

When has Cam ever spit like this?

The one thing that I do believe about cole that even tho ppl may be critical of him now 10 years from now his music will still be good and will def age better than a lot of shyt that’s out now

It’s just some rappers like snoop or nas come out with classic debuts they get that legend status early we’re some ppl it’s there overall body of work that’ll get them there pac wasn’t always in my top 5 but his music just kept getting better with age and I def think cole will be in that same vein maybe not pac but cole raps about a lot of real shyt that will still hit ppl the same if not more I mean shyt in 2002/2003 there were prolly ppl putting Luda and 50 over cam and jada but some shyt don’t sound as good 20 years later
