That's the kinda shyt that breaks the Internet. Let down by "Let Nas Down.":damn:

:leostare:

yeah, imagine if nas was let down by "let nas down" and j cole making "let down nas let down nas" and making listen that to nas and nas would be letting down by the song then j cole would have to make "let down nas let down nas let down nas" and on and on

inception shyt :leostare:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
C'mon Jermaine, why the fukk does it matter if Nas didn't like Work out :beli:
Nobody apologised for Oochie Wally

Oochie Wally wasn't even Nas' song let alone his break out single...plus everybody liked it when it dropped...even without Nas on it..Nas ain't hop on it till they made a video for it and he was tryna push his crew...but u right..it doesn't matter if Nas liked Work Out or not...either way people seem to think Nas didn't like the song cause it was commercial and just randomly mentions any commercial track Nas was associated wit...when in reality it wasnt cause the song was commercial..it was cause he felt Cole coulda made a BETTER commercial breakout song for his career..in which Cole woulda never even known Nas felt that way if it wasnt for No I.D tellin him what Nas said...

Live your own life
Sometimes I cut my eyebrows to see how much they bleed
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See everything you say is real, and I respect you cause you tell it
Hov is jealous cause I talk about you 24/7
But he don't know you like I know you Nas, no one does
He don't know what it was like for people like us growin up
You gotta call me man, I'll be the biggest fan you'll ever lose
Sincerely yours, Cole -- P.S.
We should ball together too

:krs:

the black cat is my crown...
I think the point that J Cole was trying to make was that he admired Nas so when Nas heard the song and said it wasn't up to par, its like having one of your idols tell you that you could do better.

We all look up to people no matter who we are. In this case, the best comparison would be Kobe and MJ. What if MJ didn't give props to Mamba? It would only inspire him to do greater.

I think thats the point of the song.

i feel you on that... and what you said is real... however, the issue here is not that NaS was let down by j. cole's career, just that one song.... that's like mj being let down by kobe's season opener... so? if mj basically respects kobe's overall body of work, who cares if mj is upset at the performance of one game..... likewise, if NaS respects j. cole's overall body of work, who cares if NaS liked a particular song or not...

Interesting way of looking at it..

i'd be surprised if Nas even listens to J Cole like that to even care enough.
probably got told about those terrible comparisons and No I.D. let him hear his single and Nas prolly thought it was garbage on some this who you compare to me blah blah blah... but even then, now this songs here and it's done what Cole needed it to do.. get the buzz out and gave him an excuse to make the frustrated artist made a forced single to please the higher ups song without stepping on toes.
