Kendrick having whole ass beats, hooks, and song concepts handed to him = He’s a talented songwriter/producer

:hubie:

You're one of the biggest retards on this site :dead: ......pharell was shopping a beat with a hook attached if somebody wanted it. So Kendrick bought the beat and let pharell perform the hook since he's the one who wrote it. Which is also known as a collaboration. You Cole dikk riders keep embarrassing yourselves:mjlol:

This mid ass album falling like a rock on the charts too:deadrose:

Can anyone point to counter‑melodies, motivic development, call‑and‑response structures, modulations, layered rhythmic polyrhythms on this album?

Cole fans can enjoy the project as much as they want, but they still can’t provide any evidence that it’s anything more than a mediocre release. Which is exactly how it was reviewed.
This is an objectively mediocre album, and thats it. You can't even call the guy a beat maker or producer...even the beats he picks have 0 cross‑rhythmic layering. The only person who ever called this an ‘ambitious’ album was a Cole fan with no real musical understanding.

Enjoy the album my man, but don't rate it, and don't compare it to quality albums, you're not qualified to do so. Stick to being a listener.

Music ain't advanced calculus

nikkas can't even recite Kendrick quotables but talmbout motivic development

:mjlol:

Both them nikkas copied Nas & Kast with their latest projects

In Philly, we prioritize bars

I guess in other re, yall prioritize layered rhythmisicisms

Listening to the very first track, the syncopation is already collapsing on itself, it’s an A‑L pattern gone completely off the rails. Honestly, the only other rapper who could fumble a rhythm like that was Soulja Boy. Someone needs to let Cole know it might be time to hang it up; you don’t get credit just for showing up and trying :mjlol:

I'm not even trying to diminish what he did with that song cause it's a classic imo. But my issue is when they ramp up his talent and songwriting while trying to diminish Cole's and everyone else. That's where I hold issue.

Flows are also completely garbage on this album. Listening to the first two tracks, nikka raps nonsense syllables in pattern A and suddenly switch to Pattern B without any preparation... nikka also keeps switching between straight, swung and triplet without transition.

Can anybody teach the guy how to flow? Or is he gonna listen to his fans that keep saying "its subjective" :mjlol:

It can be... unless you lack musical knowledge and ain't qualified to discuss it objectively...which is your case :ohhh:

I'm qualified enough to have a diverse palette when it comes to musical tastes

And I don't have to recite complex justifications to explain why I like a particular style of rap

If you nikkas wanna argue why Bing-bap-boom-boom-boom-bap-bam" is 10 yrs ahead of its time and better than any bar Cole has ever spit, do that shyt in the GNX thread
