I feel like J. Cole is pseudo conscious. Like he raps about the same stuff most other rappers rap about but to a slower tempo. I also find it odd how all these hotepettes quote this dude despite the fact he basically raps about not 'saving' them and not trusting them as far as his dikk can reach.

I dont think its about being "positive or negative", its more about being "relateable". Most black people are NOT savages and doped up drug kingpins. Alot of black people are "lame and regular" living normal lifestyles and not the swagged out stereotype that hiphop makes us out to be. Cole represents that regular dude. Not saying he's a saint, but simply that its ok to be yourself. Modern day hiphop usually teaches us the opposite

Cole teaches you to be mediocre. which I guess is what being regular is about.

He's not being himself, because he chooses what/what not to tell you about him. Does dude ever rap about his father? Wasn't he secretly married for years before his fans knew? Why is he talking about virginity now when he's at least a decade removed from that?

Yet somehow he's 'real' and 'relatable'. Sure. :duck:

As I said, people relate to all sorts of shyt. Just as some people relate to corny "hood love" rappers, fake "I woke up in a bugatti" rappers is the same way some relate to "I'm on the come-up and I can fukk yo bytch, and I'll pattern myself as 04 Kanye" shyt. It's all shallow fantasy at the end of the day.

Cole is good blueprint of what you want a good rapper to be...he's like Ryu. Fundamentally sound, no glaring weaknesses but no real outward strengths either. Cole is all upside.

Kendrick is like Akuma, basically what happens and the next level, pushing the boundaries on what we think is "rap". But he can get knocked off his perch, and really there's no where for him to go but down from here. I hope he proves me wrong though.

People told me to like forest hills talmbout "it's the 2014 GKMC". I purchased it off GP and regretted it
Saying J Cole fans aren't pushy is an outright lie
J Cole fans are pretty lowkey. They might say he's great but it's once in a great while, unlike Drake fans who are constantly posting memes of him and Kendrick fans who are sure TPAB was the greatest album of all time.
Huh? Fans of an artist like the artist a lot and want to support said artist? How annoying

I wouldn't want his career though. I'll just say that, he has a fanbase.

I'll leave it at that.

stop lying b.

he's been one of the biggest rappers for the past few years while not being in the spotlight, making a good living for years off of his bland music, marketed himself lovely and getting bigger every go around.

his music might be garbage but he has a pretty great set up for himself that most people would love to have.

Cole is the best of this generation. His fans don't need to try to convince others like Kendrick and Drake stans...and I'm a Kendrick fan.

this is just lies.

might not be you specifically but he has plenty of those dumb fans that tell you need to be smart to get his music and they have a habit of having to pop up and remind people he exist in those excruciating Drake/Kendrick conversations.

Nikkas who fall asleep to J Cole must have the attention span of a 5 year old.:francis:

Does that make Drake, Ken?

He's flashy and can hit you with a lot of combo's but if you can block him he does no real damage. :lupe:

J. Cole fans are dumb. Just because he doesn't talk about the trap means he's a deep lyrical rapper. And Cole fans seem to tip toe over him being a misogynistic rapper just like the rest :mjlol:. "Don't save her she don't wanna be saved" :mjlol:
He was kicking common knowledge.
If a woman doesnt want be saved dont save her. your a simp. My woman even agrees with that shyt. Haters gonna hate tho...

Ya'll right about these women being so dumb to the fact that Cole stay shytting on them :russ:

Cole's music is deep but it's very simple and straight forward. I hate when people try to make it out as more complex than it really is. His stanbase is getting up there as far as being some of the most annoying out there and I'm a huge Cole fan myself. It seems like the bigger he gets the more I kinda drift slowly away from him. Like lately I've been listening to and feeling Kendrick way more. :yeshrug:

Friday Night Lights / The Warm Up Cole was :wow: tho.
