you can hear the pain in some of those beats :wow:

Def since majority of those beats were just loops. You can tell he was on his death bed. That album imo is over rated and Dilla is my fav producer of all time. I understand he made those beats on his death bed, but if you compare those beats on that tape to his others.....

I have all of those other beat tapes and even though they were nice this one was just more cohesive and seemed to tell a story with only samples being used which is what makes it head and shoulders above his other work IMO. I was not one of those new nikkas who hopped on the bandwagon when he died wearing those corny ass "J Dilla Changed My Life" shirts. This was truly his best overall solo project IMO.

I think donuts has some of Dilla's best stuff, but he had so many different styles put into so many different beats it'd be hard to say that was him at his absolute best

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother

J Dilla - Donuts OG

the 2005 original version of Donuts

Noticeable things compared to original:

1. intro track is played three times
2. less tracks than released (runtime is 28 minutes, or 27:08 i forgot)
3. all tracks are untitled
4. time: donut of the heart has a "who is it" sample
5. all tracks are cut weirdly
6. don't cry has an extra bit at the beginning (play this version then the released one you'll see what i mean)
