On Toca Tuesdays w/ DJ Tony Touch Egon came on to debut brand new J Dilla tracks

sucks they actually edited out the tracks though but they play snippets and talk about the records/process.

The album is cool. Ive heard a few tracks over the years. Its none of the soulful stuff that people love Dilla for but its still dope beats, cool rhymes and nice energy to it. I remember when people first started to hear Dilla rhyme and were shocked that he rhymed about Detroit shyt: whips, guns, hoes, and money because every other nerd was rhyming about quantum theories over Dilla instrumentals they stole from Youtube. That made Dilla more human to me. He wasn't this mythical guy people were making him out to be since he died.

also it got some of that devil night vibe like dilla could been rapping on that album and it would fit

I'll cop to support. I liked the original version of The Ex (called I Remember on the Pay Jay leak) more than the one on here

But this is quality overall, and proof that Dilla had his own style on the mic. Not the most dynamic MC but he knew how to flow

That's why it kills me when clowns rate him as an overrated backpacker. Absolute no fukking clue.

I don't think anyone has more strip club references etc. And the slick wordplay. Nikka was a monster
