This kinda my gripe with him. Every record it’s like he’s doing a 3K, Em, Kendrick or Cole rendition. Sometimes he’ll switch flows and add 2-3 of them into the mix but it’s like he’s mimicking them. I actually don’t mind when a rapper takes another rapper flow in a homage type of way but I don’t know what JID the rapper really sound like. I guess I prefer my rappers with their own clear distinct sound/flow.
This is exactly my issue with him. He will go from sounding like anderson paak to schoolboy q on the same song.

Just coming off The Clipse album (Amazing)

What's JID album sounding like I might cop (illegally of course....i don't be purchasing EVERYBODY Album, it's gotta be special)

Never been into him, cause DAMN...we already got a Kendrick and Kendrick clones! We don't need a new one! Only but so much of that fast rappity Rap without saying shyt I can take..

:damn:

Been a phenomenal year for rap

Larry June x Alc x Chainz - life is beautiful
Larry June x Cardo - Until Night comes
Rome Streetz x Conductor - Trainspotting
Freddie x Alchemist - Alfredo 2
Mac Miller - Balloonerism
Boldy James - (Multiple fire releases with more to come)
MIKE - Pinball II
Slick Rick - Victory
Raekwon - The Emperors New Clothes
Drake x PND - $ome $exy $ongs 4 U (if you count the minimal rapping on it)
DJ Premier x Roc Marciano - The Coldest Profession

I’m forgetting a bunch too and it’s still some more fire on the way
I’ve listened to all these albums except Alfredo 2 which I’ll get on soon. All these albums were okay/decent to me but nothing blew me away.

It's worth the bread though. One of the better albums of the year. Top 5, for me.

Can't lie I was hating on having Westside Gunn open the album, when I heard that a week ago I immediately stopped the album and went back to Alfredo.

Just gave it another chance and made it past tootootooot and it goes hard :ehh:

but... isn't that literally just atlanta?

that's the gamut of being a GA nikka per ever GA nikka I've ever met: nikkas shooting outside the skate rink, then waking up and going to church the next morning to tithe nothing and then sliding out the parking lot on golds.

Y'all let Young Thug croon about sliding on nikkas for a whole decade but let someone diversify they flow a lil bit and it's too much?
Drake gets to wear every accent he's ever heard but anyone else got nuance and it's weird?

ion know what people want tbh. If you show versatility people say you are too many things, but if you don't show any you become DaBaby. ain't no winnin.
