you forgot 3..... a nikka was really big bossing back in the day and avoided jail.... unlike most idiots, HE GOT OUT THE GAME, and stopped doing illegal shyt... flipped that money into a legal business, but still kept money flowing to hood nikkas and hood areas so they still showed him love

while today he ain't going to do any crime, he got enough money and pull, to get some idiot to do some crime for you.. but it rarely has to go that far, cause he already got the name so big, that you know not to fukk with him off top

there's a lot of dudes like that now... well i shouldn't say a lot.. but a few.. police can't touch prince cause he ain't doing shyt TODAY that the police could catch him in.. but come beat up his kid or some shyt.... bet there'd be 50 nikkas at your door, with no direct connection to him, ready to lay that murder game down

how do you know this?

well i don't KNOW this like the nikka told me himself

but dude doesn't SEEM to be moving heavy drugs anymore.. he's not just managing 5 artists on some henchmen shyt, who still needed to move coke to maintain the lifestyle...

Prince had one of the most successful indy labels of all time, successful sports deals, successful side businesses, and still heavy in the music game to the point he still making paper off the #1 artist in the game not named adele

he'd have to be some type of fukking fool to still be moving heroin around the country in 2017

my bad, I meant how do you know he was a heavy street dude?

this dude definitely has a reputation that precedes him....

but how do people know he was a big time street dude?

I only know three things about him that make him a possible street boss

- his well respected reputation

- D.E.A investigation

- Possible ties to Larry Hoover

i guess it's really based on what you just said... you don't get a rep like that any other way.. the DEA was definitely in his shyt... he was definitely cool with out of state nikkas/gangs/bosses... again, not something easy to do if you not respected

but his young days was in the 70s/80s.. so it's hard to really trace what he was doing in news articles and internet talk. nobody was around to document it like that. by 1990 he already flipped it to a label and had the first version of geto boys ready to go

but there are things like this still out here... probably the best article ever written on the man

A Brief History of Houston Rap Executive J. Prince Defending Everyone from The Geto Boys to Drake - Noisey

and he definitely had those political connects on lock

Perhaps the most famous J. Prince move of all occurred in 2000 after Scarface released his Last Of A Dying Breed LP, which features taunts at Drug Enforcement Agency officer Jack Schumacher and other agents. A 12-year investigation conducted by DEA agent Ernest Howard, which began in 1988, targeted Prince and Rap-A-Lot Records for involvement in drug distribution concluded suspiciously when then Attorney General Janet Reno canned the probe into the label. A rumor spread that the case had been withdrawn due to political pressure after Prince supposedly donated $200,000 to then-Vice President Al Gore’s presidential campaign, although government officials and Rap-A-Lot spokespeople denied the claim, according to MTV.

Democratic California representative Maxine Waters intervened on Prince’s behalf, writing Reno a letter detailing how Prince and associates feared for their lives due to “police harassment and excessive force,” while Howard, on behalf of the DEA, testified in a congressional hearing that he ended the investigation for fear of agents’ lives and safety.

not the local politician... not the state... had the fukking AG of the US shut down a 12 year investigation.. had the lead DEA agent shut down a damn investigation our of FEAR FOR AGENTS' SAFETY :gucci:

if that ain't a boss, i don't know what is :wow:

I know a lil bit about J Prince story on the streets, but correct me if im wrong usually when cats
have those type of passes that he has on the streets, with the feds & everything else its usually 1 of 2 things;

1. They have strong political connection protecting them. If you look it was the same shyt Haitian Jack & i believe Henchman had too back in the day. Definitely Jack at least. And they had clout in Rikers & in NY back then.

Watch tons of non black gangster cats too and you'll see the same. They're usually involved politically by "donating" money or something to where the law CAN'T
break you even if they want to. But eventually strike when they don't need you anymore.

2. They're really informants. Y'all know about that. Think it happens more than people think.

So J Prince gotta fill either one of these, or maybe both.

Harry O had said that he helped fund Death Row Records and Rap-A-Lot Records by providing both Suge and Prince with seed money back in the day and they were supposed to be under his GF Entertainment umbrella. He was allegedly a informant himself so you never really know. They said the same about Suge being an informant too.

I don't think there's any real reason for Puffy to be shook of Prince either. Puffy got way more pull than people think alof of people get distracted by the flash and forget how much pull he's got.

Yeah, i know about Harry O, GF Entertainment & the whole thing. The Harry O connection is why Suge used to bodyguard for Prince before Death Row.

But yeah ive read only a few things where people have alleged that Harry O was an informant too. You're right. You really dont know.
