This is our culture now, and it’s the dominant “black thing” being passed on to children at a young age. Meanwhile the cultural things that were once heavily passed down - soul food, HBCUs, classic r&b, church, etc - are fading. I’m not a religious person and don’t give a shyt about church, so my concern isn’t that one particular aspect of culture is fading…my concern is that all aspects of culture are fading at the same time.

Even the music is largely region-less now, meaning the identity is blurred and heavily homogenized so everything blends together.
