Ja Morant is Explosive but he lacks that extra little twitch that D-Rose had

I'm not even sure Ja will ever be a #1 in this league

Not as long as he's an offensive liability, which is the same knock that's held players like Elfrid Payton and Rubio from reaching their full potential. The only other option is upgrade the wing position beside him as Brooks is better served coming off the bench than the starting line up. Only problem is that teams are looking for those same type of wings that the Grizzles need lol.

Now when it comes to JJJ, then his ceiling is looking like Brook Lopez with a 3pt shot earlier in his career. He can't stay healthy and when he does play, then he can't stay on the court as he's always in foul trouble. They really need to bring a veteran in and teach this dude how to play the big man position without ended up in foul trouble nearly every game.

DeAndre Jordan and Taj Gibson have helped Mitchell Robinson. Rasheed Wallace has also come to some of our practices. I think Thibs also played a role. He’s cut his foul rate down a lot this season. JJJ could benefit from that.

It's year 3 and his foul troubles are still a problem. They seem to be filling out the roster with youth over experience. That's fine and all, but it's hard for some of your players to develop without that veteran leadership teaching them what to do. Even Ja could benefit from playing with a veteran guard on the team to teach him the way.

Right. Rose's movements were more compact, his athleticism was more controlled, it looks cleaner...nikkas like Ja and Russ some wild wild west type characters on the court

no it’s not idiot. There are people with wider chests and shorter arms. That’s why they take both measurements.

it’s a reason why Donovan Mitchell has a 6-10 wingspan but a 8’1 standing reach.

You don’t know anything. Don’t bother quoting me. You know I’m right and your wrong once again. Just accept it dumb ass.

:dead:MITCHELL IS 6'1 BAREFOOT.
YOU MENTIONED HIS 8'1 STANDING
REACH AS IF IT WAS A BAD THING.

At the NBA level athleticism matters a lot less than developing a particular skill set.

Early in this thread, the names thrown out here are Ja Morant, John Wall and Derrick Rose -- the latter two being players who haven't ever won a championship and whose effectiveness has largely been irrelevant once their athleticism has been compromised through injury.

If Ja Morant is going to be that next level player that Memphis needs, he doesn't need to improve anything "athletically". He doesn't need to jump higher or be more explosive to the basket. He needs to become a smarter player, and a better shooter.

Many other players with better careers and skills than Derrick Rose did not win MVP.
