Jordan wasn’t no 210 most his career that was only in the second 3-Peat and that version of Jordan is definitely getting cooked he couldn’t stay in front of shifty guards
Like I told breh, invincibility armor lol
Nah breh he got his weight up earlier than that as he was tired of Detroit's bigs literally beating his ass
He said he got up to 213-214 in this video from 92’.
He got noticeably more muscular from about 1990-on. Also when he came back from baseball in March 95’…he was skinnier and then definitely bulked up during the summer for the 95-96 season and polished up his post game (which was already excellent).
That's not the kind of defender MJ was at all. He didn't lock guys down like that, he was super disruptive using his athleticism to gamble for steals and blocks. Which was extremely effective in disrupting the other team's offense but players could get theirs on him too. When Phil came in to coach he actually got on him to stop gambling more and play disciplined defense instead.
I mean look what the Cavs' starting guards did against the Bulls in the 1988 playoffs:
Mark Price - 21-4-8 on 57% from the field and 41% from 3pt (Price was a 2nd-year player who averaged just 16ppg in the regular season)
Ron Harper - 18-5-4 on 48% from the field (Harper was a 2nd-year player who averaged 15ppg in the regular season)
If MJ couldn't lock down an inexperienced Mark Price or Ron Harper in 1988, how the fukk was he going to lock down Ja Morant?
Good scorers very rarely get locked down like that anyway. Opposing defenses will try to make them work harder for their points, be less efficient and score less than usual, but they’re most likely not going to be locked down offensively to where they’re barely breaking double digits or anything like that.
Once in awhile they’ll have a really bad series (Ewing 94’ finals, Kobe 04’ finals, Lebron 11’ finals, Bird 88’ ECF). That’s pretty much the best case scenario for the defense.
