Chicago native and NBA star Jabari Parker dived into the firestorm over former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh's tweet that some viewed as a veiled threat to President Obama.

The Milwaukee Bucks forward tweeted Friday, "@WalshFreedom You ain't landing a single finger on @BarackObama. No body is. Chicago and myself going to make sure of that."

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Walsh wrote, "3 Dallas Cops Killed, 7 wounded. This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming for you."



Walsh criticized the president for comments he made in the aftermath of the Dallas shooting that killed five police officers and injured seven.

In a later tweet Walsh explained, "I wasn't calling for violence, against Obama or anyone. Obama's words & BLM's deeds have gotten cops killed. Time for us to defend our cops."

Parker responded to that tweet.

The former Simeon Career Academy standout also weighed in this week with several comments that seemed to be directed at two recent high-profile cases in which police officers shot and killed black men, one in the suburban Minneapolis and the other in Baton Rouge, La.



"The irony of people who say 'All lives matter', while they refuse to help out the matter at hand or feel sympathetic. Confusing I know," he tweeted Thursday.

He added, "I love everyone. I hate to see anyone struggling. Bring up any racial injustice and I'll support the oppressed. But the matter at hand is..."

He quoted Desmond Tutu in an earlier tweet: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
