Him winning the EC out of nowhere and getting a world title match at Wrestlemania is one of the weirdest/worst moves they've made this decade.

There wasn't a single bit of build leading into that win. With past winners there was at least some type of hint they'd win, or other guys looked credible to where you could believe they'd win. With Swagger, it was nothing at all, and the crowd responded in kind.

He's one of the people they put the World title on and then immediately book them to look bad for unknown Vince reasons. Unfortunately for Swagger, he didn't have the charisma to overcome it like CM Punk and his first reign. He did have a bit of a second life with the feud with Rusev, but he lost every match :manny: I would've still went with full Jim Duggan patriot makeover so he'd have some cheap pops for his matches, but there's still a lot of people who don't get regular TV time who are more over, so it's not that big a loss.

He's got a gig in the UK next week. I guess he really does plan to hit up all the places he mentioned.

I think they were just going for a shock winner, something to get the crowd's attention because most people assumed it would be Jericho or Orton winning the Chamber. But they did nothing with it and he went back down the card months later so the match didn't matter at all.

If it were me, I would have had Ryback win the Chamber and beat Big Show at WrestleMania. :manny:

The fact that this guy was the World Champion and ended up going out like a bum is a testament to how irrelevant the WWE titles are. Who in the 90s went from WWF Champ to jabroni? Hogan, Warrior, Slaughter, Undertaker, Flair, Macho Man, HitGOAT, Yokozuna, Bacclund, Diesel, Shawn, Sid, Austin, Kane, HHH, Foley, Rock, Big Show. That's every WWF Champ in the 90's. The lowest any of them fell was Yoko to the midcard
:ohhh:

Kane and Big Show fell pretty hard. Big Show was wearing diapers and dressing like Hogan for awhile in the early-2000's. Kane turned into a comedy act for awhile. Both of them eventually found their way back to the main event though, I guess.

It's still Kane and Big Show though. monsters/big men like that have always had the ability to have the switch flipped on them like that. It's very easy to buy them as legit if you want to push them. Swagger was a dude that had his personality nuked as soon as he won, and after losing the title, had been a relative footnote for SEVEN YEARS (:mjlol:) outside of his theme and catchphrase

Swagger wrestled ADR at Wrestlemania fairly recently for the WHC though, so he did technically make it back to the main event.

The fact that this is all of them in a decade speaks volumes itself.
